The Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square is offering a new "Pick your Perks" group promotion to groups booking at least 20 room nights and that sign the contract before Dec. 31, 2017.

The Sheraton Pittsburgh offers 399 guest rooms with views of the Pittsburgh skyline and 30,000 square feet of meeting space, making up 26 meeting rooms. Groups that book with the Sheraton Pittsburgh before the end of 2017 are eligible for the "Pick Your Perks" promotion, where the number of perks available correspond with the amount of room nights booked. One perk is offered for booking 20-49 room nights; two perks for booking 50-100 room nights; three perks for booking 101-250 room nights and four perks for booking 251-500-plus room nights.

The perks include a complimentary hour-long cocktail reception with beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres, 10 VIP upgrades, 20 percent attrition, double points for the meeting planner, 10 percent off A/V rental and more.

“Offering first-class meeting facilities and accommodations, and an ideal location just steps from many great restaurants, entertainment venues, shops, and recreational options, the hotel is a terrific choice for groups,” says David Hume, director of sales and marketing. “We are offering the ‘Pick Your Perks’ promotion as an easy way for groups to choose the perks that will best suit their program’s needs.”

The family-focused, Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Lodge opened its first resort in Wisconsin Dells in 1997. Over the next two decades, it slowly expanded with more properties around the Midwest, moving into the Northeast, South, West and Canada. And this summer, the greater Chicago area will get its first resort from the brand.

Days Inn Penn State has been named the top hotel in the Days Inn brand. Additionally, the hotel has won both the 2017 Hotel of the Year within the Days Inn brand and the Global Hotel of the Year within the Wyndham’s economy segment is a high achievement.

I attended the IACC conference at the Chubb Hotel & Conference Center and while I always find the industry trends and reports interesting, my biggest takeaway from the event was the last hour on the last day. I sat down at a table with brown craft paper and a pile of Sharpie markers and was soon told that the other five people at our table of six would be providing 6 minutes of free consulting time to others. What?!
