This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending a mixology class at coup d’etat in Uptown Minneapolis. The class was held in one of their semi-private dining areas, where 18 of us had the pleasure of creating five signature cocktails with our mixologist Alex.

Looking for a scenic setting with plenty to offer? Ski resorts offer skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and other winter sports, of course, but many of these resorts also offer state-of-the-art banquet rooms, auditoriums and conference rooms for meetings and events.

For Yianni Barakos, co-owner of Mason Dixon Distillery in Gettysburg, liquor-making runs in his blood. Anyone visiting Blue Mountain Resort in recent years has enjoyed an extensive list of resort improvements and additional multi-season activities. New lodges, restaurant & food service venues, new summer attractions, state-of-the-art snow making and now, a new 4-star condominium resort hotel.
These major capital improvements over the last eight years have been an ongoing effort by the Tuthill and Ebert families, who see the future of Blue Mountain Resort as more than just a ski mountain but as a four-season destination resort.

Few backdrops are more scenic than that of a pristine golf course—such as the Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli. Add multiple unique venues to the 18-hole championship course and you have a wonderful setting to host a special event.
“One of the great things about Olde Homestead is that each event venue is separate from the daily activities of the golf course, but you are still in the middle of the course and surrounding farm giving you that awesome environment,” says Justin Smith, general manager.
With the largest indoor waterpark in the United States and the third largest convention center in the state (Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are No. 1 and No. 2, respectively), it’s safe to say that Kalahari Resort has been eagerly anticipated. It was a massive undertaking and one that, according to owner Todd Nelson, was expected to take at least five years. Instead, they finished in three and created 1,000 jobs along the way.
