Hilton Announced Newest Initiative at IMEX

IMEX America, an expo for the travel, meetings and events industry, took place in Las Vegas on Oct. 10–12. There, Hilton announced and launched their new initiative, WowMakers, which will help recognize the hardworking professionals in the hospitality industry.

The program is intended to celebrate the 100,000-plus professionals in the industry by sharing their stories and helping them connect with others in the business—giving them the recognition they deserve.

Gettysburg Reporting High Tourism Numbers

The number of overnight stays in Adams County, Pa., through October, is more than 4.1 percent higher than the same timeframe in 2014, according to the Smith Travel Research report which measures hotel occupancy, average daily rates and revenue generated through participating lodging properties.

Meet AC Launches New Websites

Meet AC, Atlantic City, N.J.’s tourism development agency, is shaking things up with three new websites this year and three in the pipeline set to launch within the next six months.

Recently, the organization established the convention website, which holds its convention calendar, a number of meeting planner tools and marketing materials. The convention center website merged with Meet AC. Soon, exhibitors will be able to make purchases directly through the website.

The Wildwoods Introduced Free Mobile App

The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority just became even more connected with its visitors.

Early last week, the CVB launched a free mobile app for the area.

The one-touch easy access app provides information on entertainment, places to stay, restaurants, shops and feature an events calendar. Even more fun is the Wildwoods Earth Cam (a 24-hour webcam), a 10-day weather forecast, ocean tides, ocean temperatures, contest information and the destination’s comprehensive vacation planner and guide.
